  1. Hi Dr Wegenek-Great to see you expanding horizons with a new blog. Looking forward to hearing your perspective on life and the field. And speaking of embarking on a new career I graduate this week from Chapman with my BA and starting their masters program this spring. Also my internship I had talked with you about a while back turned into a job working in research down at UCSD. =)

Happy New Year and best wishes with everything!

  2. Hi Julia,

Welcome and congratulations!! What a great accomplishment to finish your BA and be accepted to a wonderful graduate program. I am also so excited to hear that your internship turned into a job! That is truly excellent. I often tell my students how important internships are, and sometimes they are less than excited to "work for free." However, the skills and experience that one picks up during an internship are invaluable and you are proof that internships may even directly turn into a paid position!

Please keep me posted on your success and progress. Graduate school will fly by - time does when you are learning about what you love!
